How to get here
Her Majesty's Theatre is located at 58 Grote Street, Adelaide, which is on the north side of the street. You can’t miss the beautiful, street-facing entrance, and although there is no designated drop off area, cars can pause to drop off passengers nearby on Grote Street.
Visiting Her Majesty's Theatre
There are many parking options around the Grote Street precinct, including on Pitt St, at Adelaide Central Market, and Wilson Parking on Franklin Street.
There is not a taxi rank directly adjacent to Her Majesty’s Theatre, but the nearest one is just 250m east, outside the Hilton Hotel on Victoria Square.
Public transport is a great way to visit Her Majesty’s Theatre with no need to worry about parking. Many busses, including the free bus that loops through the city and North Adelaide, stop nearby as does the tram which stops in Victoria Square just 250m away.

Free City Connector bus
The free City Connector bus is a hop-on and hop-off service linking popular city attractions, shopping, dining and key destinations in the city and North Adelaide. Bus route 98A and 98C connect North Adelaide with the city, and 99A and 99C connect the inner-city areas not serviced by the tram. Services operate every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 30 minutes on weekends.

- Children under 12 months do not require a ticket when seated on a parent or guardian’s lap.
The foyer bars at Her Majesty's Theatre open 45 minutes before each performance for a variety of drinks including beer and wine, and potato chips are available as a snack at each bar.
If you are after a more substantial pre-show lunch or dinner, the Gouger and Grote Street strip is one of Adelaide’s most popular precincts and has a variety of places to drink and dine, all within easy walking distance.

Access Services
We want to make your visit as enjoyable as possible and offer many ways to assist if support is required.
Removable seats are available in the Stalls row G as well as on the Dress Circle and Grand Circle for patrons who wish to remain seated in their wheelchair or transfer to a theatre seat.
Lifts are located in the foyer near the information desk with access to all levels.
At Her Majesty's Theatre, hearing loop facilities are available in foyer areas.
Audience members who require hearing assistance are now able to enjoy the show via the Beyerdynamic Hearing System.
Accessible toilets are available at Her Majesty's Theatre.
Adelaide Festival Centre's standard straws are a hard paper. Plastic straws are available for patrons who require them, please request one from your food and beverage attendant.
Every theatre and event/function area of Her Majesty's Theatre is assistance animal friendly.
Please contact 131 246 or advise the operator when you are booking tickets if you require a loan wheelchair during your visit.
Wheelchairs can be collected at your venue concierge desk pre-show and must be returned within 20 minutes of the show finishing. Patrons will be required to leave a driver's license, credit card, or government issued photo ID as a deposit until the wheelchair is returned. Wheelchairs must not be taken off site. Please coordinate patron pick-up and drop-off locations accordingly.
Unfortunately we cannot provide staff to assist with patron wheelchair use unless there is an emergency. Adelaide Festival Centre participates in the Companion Card program for patrons who require support during their visit.
Attending an event
Before you attend an event, please read the Your Visit email sent to ticket buyers to make sure you’re up-to-date with the latest guidelines. If you did not purchase your tickets, please ask the person who did to send you your pre-show email.
To avoid queues and congestion, please arrive no more than 15 minutes before the performance. Once inside, please take your seats in the auditorium.
With the high rate of vaccination in our community, we are no longer required to check your COVID-19 vaccination evidence at entry to our venues.
QR Code and manual COVID-19 check-in is no longer required for visitors to Adelaide Festival Centre venues.
At Festival Theatre, Dunstan Playhouse and Space Theatre - foyer bars are open 90 minutes before the performance.
At Her Majesty's Theatre - foyer bars are open 45 minutes before performances.
Drinks and light refreshments are available.
To help reduce congestion, please consider sending one person to the bar for drinks.

Hand sanitiser stations are throughout back and front of house areas. Patrons are encouraged to wash their hands and sanitise frequently.
There is an onus on personal responsibility for the health and wellbeing of everyone:
- Do not come to the theatre if you have cold or flu symptoms. Contact 131 246 to discuss your tickets.
- Wash your hands often and cover coughs and sneezes in your arm.
- Wear a mask and keep 1.5m from others wherever possible in foyers and queues.
- Keep up to date on your COVID-19 vaccinations.
- If you are vulnerable, talk to your doctor about what is appropriate for you.
SA Health guidelines inform all seating arrangements and venue capacities. For most performances, you will be seated with patrons immediately next to you.
Adelaide Festival Centre has a comprehensive Covid-19 Risk Assessment and Management Plan for prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery.
Adelaide Festival Centre management will continue to take advice from SA Health and adapt to the developing situation.

Ticket FAQs
Adelaide Festival Centre abides by the following rules:
- For children’s shows: age 12 months and under - no ticket required.
- For all other shows: age 2 years and under - no ticket required (where attendance is permitted for children based on age restrictions).
All ticketholders impacted by venue closures will receive a refund in full once the event is cancelled.
