A welcome to OzAsia Festival’s Weekend of Words from Program Curator Sami Shah.

Sami Shah

I’m thrilled to have you join us for a remarkable celebration of writing, culture, and creativity.

For three days you’ll be immersed in a series of thought-provoking panels, dynamic discussions, and captivating performances featuring an extraordinary lineup of novelists, journalists, poets, playwrights, performers, and screenwriters from across Australia and Asia.

Held at the iconic Adelaide Festival Centre, OzAsia Festival’s Weekend of Words is proud to be the largest gathering of Asian and Asian Australian writers and thinkers in the country.

This year, I’m excited to host international guests from Sri Lanka, South Korea and Singapore Writers Festival.

I’ve done my best to curate a weekend that promises to explore themes of identity, power, culture, community, gender, sexuality, family, and more.

I invite you to engage, reflect, and be inspired. Enjoy the festival and the vibrant conversations it brings!
